1. Browse to the following location:
Eg. C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick
2. This folder has a desktop shortcut
3. Drage the shortcut on the Quick Launch Bar.

Vista Quick Launch: Missing Desktop Icon
There are many users who accidentaly delete the quick launch shortcut for minimizing all windows and showing the desktop screen. This can be restored very quickly by following the steps below:
1. Browse to the following location:
:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
Eg. C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick
2. This folder has a desktop shortcut
3. Drage the shortcut on the Quick Launch Bar.
